Storm Water Mitigation
July 4, 2021
We live on a barrier island and storm water as well as extreme high tides have historically been an issue and will continue to be an issue simply because of where we live. We must make every effort to mitigate to the best of our abilities.

My Thoughts on Storm Water Infrastructure
July 4, 2021
I have discussed storm water with our town staff and residents who have been directly affected. My big takeaways from these conversations are:
-
We need improved and hardened review of the permitting process.
-
Development of parcels must be properly engineered.
-
Apply Strict Repercussions to those who fail to comply with our storm water mitigation plan.
I have witnessed the flooding we have after a major named storm. I have also witnessed the flooding after a simple rain event and a full moon at high tide. While I know it is impossible to completely mitigate storm water from heavy rain events and King Tides, I believe we should make every effort possible to mitigate the damage and loss of property.
