I served on the Plastic Bag Ad Hoc Committee to educate the public about the benefits of being a Plastic Bag FREE Community.

My Thoughts On Litter
Part of Dealing with Litter, is communicating what to do about it ahead of time and encouraging EVERYBODY to practice good habits regarding their refuse when they are visiting our beaches and traveling throughout Pleasure Island.
I walk the beach strand almost everyday. I have noticed a huge decrease in the amount of litter on the sections of our beach where the trash cans have been removed. I believe in this new strategy however, time and education are our mitigating factors.
Its not only responsible, but it is sensible.
